In Line Edit is a feature that allows you quickly update data across multiple records in an App without the need to open a single Record. It allows you to update Field values by entering data directly into a List Report.
Navigate to the List Report that you would like to edit data for.
Next to the Report Subtitle at the top left of the Report, there is an icon of a pencil. Click on this icon to toggle in line edit mode on and off. When the pencil is green, in line edit mode has been enabled.
With in line edit mode enabled you will notice that the Fields now appear as they do within a record in their editable form. You can now update the data by clicking on a value and entering the new value.
The feature respects the security that has been set on the Records. You will only be able to update Records that you have full access to. Read-Only Fields and Fields that obtain their value via expression will also appear greyed out and cannot be updated.
This feature has auto-save enabled so as soon as you click away from the Field, the new value will be stored for the Record. You will be able to update values in the column Fields defined in the Report as well as any Fields that have been added to the Record Details area that is accessible via the chevrons to the right of the Record row.
Note: Some Field types are not available for in line edit. Image Fields cannot be updated in this view and LongText Fields can only be updated if they appear in the Details area under the chevron.
