Publishing an App from Appstudio

This is a new step in Appstudio introduced in November 2021 -

Publishing an app comes after making any change to your application. You will see a banner appear at   folders menu next to the putheblish folder saying 'New Version' when the application is at a point ready to publish. You do not have to publish straight away when you see this, you can wait until you have all the changes you want to make ready. This tag will appear after making any changes to the app.

To Publish an App, you can either be in the 'Publish' section, once there you will have the option to publish your app in the bottom left, or you can publish by looking at the top right and clicking the green publish button from anywhere.

The indicators, are there to help ensure the basic coherence or your App. If they are not green, you should consider amending this prior to publishing. However providing you are happy for your App to be published and go 'live', you can click 'Publish Version' to commit your changes.

The box on the left shows the current version number you are on, the user who published last with the date and time of when it was published. On the right you can see the next version number when you publish the app. Below you can see the status of the publish for each language of the application.

When you are ready to publish you will then see the notes (Release Notes) pop up where you can put a summary of what you are publishing in this release for tracking. This can be very useful if you have multiple app builders on one site. 

Once you publish changes to an existing app, users will receive those changes within 10 minutes of being on the platform. This new publish greatly increases the sync time of your applications when they are offline.

• Ability to see what changes are being committed in the publish
• I higher level of audit trail on what changes have been made, who made them and when
• The ability to revert to previous versions of the application
• To compare and tests versions before they are published
