Best Use Cases for a Pop Up

Pop-ups utilise the embedded templates feature to open a box that overlays the current screen. There are a number of use cases with three of the best explained here.

Use Case 1: Embedded Templates in a List Report

From a List Report, pop-up Fields that allow the User to edit key information for a Record without them needing to navigate away and back to the Report. This is an enhancement to the user experience form in-line edit and also allow Fields that would not usually fit in the report such as Long Text Fields to be viewed and/or edited.

Use Case 2: Embedded Templates in a Kanban Card Report

Embedded Templates can also be used in other types of Report such as Kanban. Here we can see how the embedded template allows us to move the estimated delivery of Actions in a weekly planner.

Use Case 3: Embedded Templates in a Record

Embedded templates within a Record can be used in a variety of ways. One is to make the User pause and think before completing a key step in the process. The follow is a screenshot from an Audit App. Suppose that you have built in workflow to set the Audit to ReadOnly once the User has completed the Audit. In order to prevent the User accidently submitting their scores prematurely, you can add an embedded template to give an extra click for score submission.
