This is the help page for the new Filters (as opposed to Advanced Filters).
It allows the user to set a predetermined filter for an app in question regarding some fields, so that when searching for specific records, they can be easily filtered down according to the desired record.
Creating a Report Filter in AppStudio
When working on AppStudio, a new feature titled as Filter (Preview) will appear on the left pad between the Forms and Reports options. Once the 'Use New Filters (Preview)?' option is enabled, as shown in the picture above. Below Filter fields, the option to 'Add Fields' will show up, here is when the user will be allowed to choose which filters, he would like to see displayed at the workspace for the purpose of searching for certain fields.
Moreover, in the 'Report' section directly below 'Filter (Preview)', when creating a new report, at the bottom there will be an option labelled as 'Report Base Filter', where a select list of option fields will show up, once the desired Field is chosen and a Value given. A report option with only the records that match the provided Value will display.
Looking at Reports on Workspace
Once published, and the user has directed to and refreshed the App using Resync App option in the corresponding App in Workspace, by pressing the filter icon on the top right below the cog. The following tab will appear, where the user will have the chosen fields displayed and ready to quick filter the desired options in order to search for specific records. In addition, if the user would like to clear the options chosen previously, it is as simple as clicking the 'Clear All' button at the bottom left of the black filter tab.
Furthermore, the user will be able to see an icon (...) on the left next to a filtering field selection list. By clicking on that more options will display, and the user can choose accordingly.
The options available are:
1. = Sign (Equal), which creates the order to the filter of just showing the records which would equal to the desired selection.
2. ≠ Sign (Not equal), which creates the order to the filter of showing all the records apart from the desired selection.
3. + inside a box sign (One of), allows the user to select multiple desired options, not just one at the same time.
4. - inside a box sign (None of), oppositely to the (One of) sign it has the same functionality but inverse, it allows the user to select multiple options which are not wanted to be displayed.
