Without further ado, let’s dive in! 

Platform Change - List Reports → Table Reports

The List Report feature is evolving into Table Reports, to deliver a faster, more efficient user experience when viewing lists of records. This is the first phase towards sunsetting List Reports.

In the coming two weeks, the production environment will see a change - which will remove the ability to create new List Reports. Your current List Reports on existing apps will continue to perform just the same – they will remain editable and supported – and will not be affected by this update. 

With the introduction of table reports, we have provided a complete replacement of functionality, especially with the arrival of pop-ups in the next few weeks, which will allow record templates to be surfaced from a report (more updates on that in the next few days). 

Do not worry about existing List Reports - we have designed the change in App Studio to facilitate a seamless migration from List Reports to Table Reports. 

This intended change is scheduled for the week commencing 29th August and we do not anticipate any interruption of service or downtime.

New Feature – Pop-up Actions for Table Reports

Pop-up templates have been in preview with the Softools App Builders and will shortly be rolled out to all so they can be added to table reports This feature will enable you to get a snapshot of information from a record and edit multiple aspects of that record at once and smoothly in the same pop-up. This feature makes it easier to get a birds-eye view of the report and enables records to be modified without leaving the report view.

Pop Ups can expose Fields and Charts and are responsive in design so will function on all devices.

How to Add Lenses to Your Table Reports in the Fastest Way Possible

In one of our recent editions, we shared how our Lenses function enables the saving of App Builder-defined filters for reports that are using Quick Filters.  Lenses allow app builders to set up multiple views of one report for faster and more efficient analysis which aims to save your time while generating contextual insights from business data.
