Much like the functionality of app visibility settings, this feature allows you to control the visibility of your reports to specific users or teams. This capability proves useful in scenarios where you need to restrict access to certain reports.
For instance, in the context of a supplier onboarding application, you might want to shield administrative reports from suppliers. This can be easily achieved by selecting the appropriate teams or users to determine who can access the report. For example, opting for the "Guest" team ensures that only members of that team can view the report, maintaining a secure and tailored sharing approach.
Visibility:
- Always: This setting ensures that the Report is always visible, regardless of whether the viewer is accessing from a parent or child app. It's useful for information that is universally relevant and non-sensitive, ensuring that all users can readily see this data without restrictions.
- Hidden: Selecting this option means the Report will not be visible in any instance, either in the parent app or any of its child apps. This is crucial for sensitive information that may only be relevant to certain backend processes or selected administrators. It could also be under development or review.
- Show for Child App: This setting makes the Report visible only within child applications. This is often used for data or features specifically relevant to the child app's functionality or purpose, avoiding clutter or potential confusion in the parent app. For instance, a child app might handle a specific department or project that requires data other people in different departments (using the parent app or different child apps) don't need to access.
- Show for Top-Level App: Contrary to the previous setting, this one makes the Report visible only in the top-level, or parent application. It is practical for broad, overarching data or features that are irrelevant or potentially confusing to the specific processes in child apps. This could include high-level analytics, overall system health reports, or administrative data.
Visible by Team: Allows content to be accessible only to specific groups or departments within an organization. Enhances team collaboration and keeps relevant information confined to authorized members.
Visible by User: Restricts content access to selected individual users, regardless of their team or department. Provides strict control over data access, ensuring information is only seen by specifically authorized individuals.
