This article will be showing the new log out process in Softools. This now checks that all data is validated before logging out of the site so all pending changes on records go through before leaving the site.
To log off you need to click on the cog in the top right-hand side of the screen, this will open a drop-down with the option to log out at the bottom.
Once you log out it will do one of two options, one is to log you out straight away and take you back to the sign-in screen. The second is to take you to a log out screen with a list of apps with any pending records that might not be validated and need to be corrected.
The image above shows that the Risk app has records that need to be updated, you can click on the 'Risk' link that will take you to the app. Alternatively, you can click on the singular record link(s) to go directly to the record(s) in question. If the App homepage is not shown by default then click on the App name on the top of the left menu. The App home will show all of the records that need updating to be made valid. Usually, they will be invalid because of missing mandatory data or a newly created but unwanted record.
NOTE: If you don't feel the need to examine the record(s) on an individual basis then you may click, 'Clear unsaved data', to automatically remove any validity issues and continue the logging out process.
Each record is showing as a tile. There is an icon on each tile which will allow you to delete or load and edit the record.
Within one of the invalid records, look for the orange warning triangle at the bottom left of the screen. This will open an area listing the validation errors that are present in the Record.
In this case, the Record had an invalid date (missing mandatory data), once I corrected the date I was then able to successfully try logging out again and leave the site.
Once these corrections have been made, the record will save and no longer prevent you from logging out.
You will need to resolve all validation errors before logging out.
