The password reset functionality is accessible from the login screen. If you are currently logged in and need to reset your password for security concerns then please first log out of the portal to access the password reset feature.
Password Reset Behaviour Based on Account Status
Verified Accounts
If a password reset request is submitted for a verified account, the system will send a password reset email.
Unverified Accounts

Added, Imported, and Invited Users:
When a password reset request is submitted, the login page will display a notification stating that an email has been sent. However, no email will actually be dispatched until the account is verified. -
Self-Registered Unverified Users:
When a password reset request is submitted, an email will be sent immediately. The user will be verified as part of the password reset process.
Multiple Password Reset Requests
If multiple password reset requests are submitted, only the most recent request will be valid. All previous reset emails and the links within them will be invalidated.
Single Sign On Login
If you have SSO enabled ono your site and a password is required then the password reset will be to go through the reset option of your enabled authentication method. Contact your system administrator if you are unsure of the steps to take here.
Password Reset Process
Step 1: The user initiates the password reset process by clicking on the 'Don't remember your password?' link.
Step 2: The login window transitions to a new window prompting you to enter in the email address associated with the account. Enter and click the 'Send Email >' confirmation.
Step 3: Upon entering the email address and clicking "SEND EMAIL," you will be redirected to the sign-in page with a confirmation message indicating that the reset email has been sent.
Step 4: The system sends an email from no-reply@softools.net
, containing a confirmation link to proceed with resetting the password.
Step 5: Enter your new password and confirm/ You will then be able to set your new password to sign in to the site.
Troubleshooting
- If the user does not receive the password reset email, they should check their spam folder and verify that there are no company-level email restrictions preventing messages from
softools.net
. - After a password reset email has been received, and until it is actioned, the user can still login using their existing password.
- The password reset link is valid for 14 days. After this period, the link will expire, and the user will need to request a new password reset.
The user can continue to log in with their existing password until the password reset process is completed.
