Comments

This new field type sums a count of the total Comments on a single record when added. This can be particularly useful for project applications that require a good amount of team communication that needs to be recorded with the project. With this field you can then see which records have comments allowing a good overview of which teams are communicating correctly.

Configuring a new Comments Field

To create a new Comments Field, you must first be in the 'Fields' section of AppStudio, here you will be able to click the 'Add Field'  button in at least one of the highlighted locations below.

This will open the following page where you can scroll down and select the the Comments Field tile or search for it in the top right bar:

Once selected you will be presented with the configuration options below, you can only have one of these fields so the identify is preselected. This is also a report only field, this cannot be used in templates so it will not appear as an option in the template design view.

• Label: Visible in the App above the entry box it makes clear to the user what data is being displayed in the Field.
• Read Only: Makes the data in the Field non-editable (Read Only) - This is always on a it is a system generated value

Make sure to click the 'Save' button when making any changes in order for them to be added to the next app version. Once you have made all the changes you need to an application you are then ready to publish it to workspace.

You can access the comments on a record at the report level by clicking on the number in the report

You can access the comments in a record by clicking on the clip in the bottom right.
